Normally I would not spend much time on this kind of things as they are usually quite straight forward, but I have spent the better part of a morning trying to update the firmware on my MOTU Ultralite mk3 Hybrid, and even though it was pretty obvious, there are a couple of small points that can lead to your frustration if you do not spot them on time.
As you will see, the main issue was just that contrary to most of the other cards from MOTU that connect through Firewire, this one, will only update using the USB cable, which normally you will not be using if you want to use the audio card to its full potential (both with regards to speed, and with regards to portability, as the USB cable forces you to also connect a separate power source on this card).
